How Hard Does Phil Collins Go On the Tarzan Soundtrack (1999)? w/ Tara Giancaspro aka Sweaty Lamarr

Tara Giancaspro aka Sweaty Lamarr is our guest for this Phil Collins-centric episode on the 1999 Kevin Lima and Chris Buck directed animated film, Tarzan. She also just released her album, A Little Bit Cuntry, A Little Bit Rock and Roll. (link to her Bandcamp below)

Phil Collins wrote all the original songs for this film and he recorded the songs in over 5 different languages. He also won an Oscar for the single, "You'll Be in My Heart" and the soundtrack has sold over 2 million copies.

Tara talks with Ryan and Nicole about her fondness for the soundtrack opposed to her ambivalent feelings towards the film and they break down both. They also talk about the other ultra famous stars that Disney employed during the decade (Elton John, Sting, All4One?) for their animated films.

They also chat about their favorite songs from classic Disney films and Tara asks Ryan and Nicole to choose the Disney princess that they identify with, and a whole lot more!

Ryan has a degree in Film Studies, and he’s a musician. So, Soundtrack Your Life is the perfect intersection of his two main passions. Plus, he’s an avid music fan—hunting down rare songs from his favorite bands has familiarized him with many obscure soundtracks over the years. It's been so gratifying for him to hear fellow film and music enthusiasts share their stories of why they love soundtracks!
